Forty
years ago, four men from Saskatchewan began a run
for curling championships that remains unprecedented
to this day. In the space of five short years,
the Richardsons of Regina would win four Briers
and four world championships. In the process, the
rink won glory for itself, its city, and its province,
and brought the sport out of relative obscurity
and towards tha prominent place it now occupies
in Canada's sporting culture.
SAY IT AGAIN, SAM! is the story
of Sam Richardson, the second on that rink. It
is not just a tale of the Richardsons' success,
but of their upbringing, of Sam's livelihood as
a carpenter and contractor, of the setbacks which
cost him his profession, of his role in helping
Jack MacDuff earn Newfoundland's only Brier triumph
and other curlers achieve their dreams, and of
Sam's boisterous exploits as a renowned speaker
on the banquet circuit.
Lavishly illustrated, SAY IT AGAIN,
SAM! is the story of a man loved and admired for
his skill, his wit, and especially for his generous
nature which has enriched thousands of lives.
